Drought, salinity and combined effects on Almond growth and physiological parameters

چکیده

Almond production is concentrated in semi arid regions where fresh surface water supplies are increasingly scarce and ground waters often salinized. In drought years growers have to restrict application, either stressing the trees with inadequate or adding saline reducing stress but causing salt stress. Tree response combined critical management decisions there little no information at this time. We examine water-salt of two almond cultivars a year outdoor experiment young trees. Water treatments consisted 100%, 80% 60% tree ET EC= 0.55, 1.20, 2.40 3.0 dS m-1), for total 120 twelve treatents five replicates. examined use, trunk diameter physiological parameters. Effects of Water Salinity on Growth Indices and Physiological Parameters in Some Wild Pistachio

The effect of four water salinity levels (0.75, 5, 10 and 15 dS.m -1 ) on growth indices and physiological parameters in some wild pistachio (P. atlantica, P. atlantica subsp. kurdica, P. atlantica subsp. mutica and P. atlantica subsp. cabulica) were investigated under greenhouse conditions. Leaf dry weight was reduced to about 30-54% at ECw 10 dS.m -1 . Chemical analysis of shoot and root indi...

Plant Responses to Individual and Combined Effects of Abiotic Stresses: Lycium depressum L. Vegetative Parameters under Salinity and Drought

Lycium depressum L. is the only native tree-like life-form species inhabited in saline and alkaline regions of Turkmen Sahra located at Golestan province in Northern Iran. During past years, efforts have been made to increase vegetation cover of the area by cultivation of L. depressum L. to reduce water and wind erosions and dust storm challenges; however, the cultivation of t...

Growth and physiological parameters under salinity stress in Lotus corniculatus. Marjan Azarafshan and Nasser Abbaspour *

Salinity is a main and common stress which decreases the amount of agriculture products and natural plants in many areas of the world. In this study, the effect of salt stress on three varieties of Lotus corniculatus 'Karaj', 'Jolfa', and 'Ardabil' was investigated. Plants were cultured in hydroponic condition with four NaCl treatments (0, 50, 100, 150 mM). The amounts of proline, glycine betai...

Maize response to water, salinity and nitrogen levels: physiological growth parameters and gas exchange

A split-split-plot design with three replications in two years of 2009 and 2010 was conducted to investigate the effect of different levels of irrigation water (main plot), salinity of irrigation water (sub-plot) and nitrogen fertilizer rate (sub-subplot) on maize growth rate and gas exchange. Irrigation treatments were I1 (1.0 crop evapotranspiration (ETc)+0.25ETc as leaching), I2 (0.75I1)...
